Shirin Gohil
Shirin Gohil, born in Massachusetts, and raised in Texas, has been learning Odissi under the tutelage of Smt. Aparupa Chatterjee since 2012. She has performed choreographic works of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, Guru Ratikant Mohapatra, and Smt. Aparupa Chatterjee, throughout Texas. In the past several years, Shirin has performed at a variety of festivals including the Brazos Valley World Festival, Child Rights and You Talent Show, Texas A&M SPIC MACAY Baithak, Sewa International Dancing Stars where her group won an award, Kelucharan Guna Keertanam, Guru Pranidhana, festivals at the Shri Omkarnath Temple in Navasota, TX, among other events. Having joined Odissi Dance Company in 2020, she is committed to performing in upcoming shows around the US. Apart from being an Odissi dancer, Shirin plays the piano and has performed at many piano festivals. She is also a passionate fine-artist and has won awards for her pieces in many art competitions. She has been nationally recognized by the Duke Talent Identification Program in 2020.
