Tanvi Prasad
Tanvi Prasad, born and raised in Palo Alto, California, had her Odissi debut in the company in Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra’s original and Smt. Aparupa Chatterjee’s directed globally famous dance drama, ‘Vande Mataram’ in summer of 2016. As one of the lead dancers, in 2016, Tanvi performed at ODC’s signature North American Odissi Convention festival in Texas. She also performed with ODC at the 2017 Odissi International Festival in Bhubaneswar, India and Kelucharan Guna Keertanam festival in Kolkata, India where she received audience’s acclaim. Tanvi, currently undergoing her formal training under Smt. Chatterjee, was introduced to the Odissi dance form in 2008 at the age of 4 under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Niharika Mohanty. Tanvi has performed at numerous festivals with Guru Shraddha company and shared stage with Abhinaya Dance company in San Francisco Bay area, including Guru Kelucharan Samsmaranam and Guru Keerti Sampradaya festivals. Now a regular performer in Chappaqua NY, Tanvi has performed lead roles with the Kala Shakti company led by Smt. Sonal Vora, a senior disciple of late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. Tanvi has performed with world famous contemporary dancer, Sri Sukalyan Bhattacharya and Smt. Anindita Gangly of Swapna Dance Academy in Whiteplains, NY. In 2016, Tanvi performed in Rabindranath Tagore’s dance drama Chitrangada, showcased at Kabi Jayanti hosted by Lipilekha Bengali Association in Whiteplains, NY and by North America Bengali Conference (NABC) in Madison Square Garden, NY.
